"I noticed that my son was starting to fall behind in Kindergarten.  While he was very verbal and bright in many ways, but he struggled with sight words and early reading skills.  In first grade I knew something was wrong, even as teachers told me it was too early to identify a problem and scoffed at my notion that he was dyslexic. I saw my typically happy and outgoing son start to become withdrawn as school became more and more difficult.  I reached out to my son's physician to discuss my concerns, and he mentioned he had heard of a tutor named Mary Converse. I looked up her website, and after reviewing the warning signs on her site, I called her immediately. My son began tutoring sessions with her twice a week in her cozy home office.  It was the perfect environment for him. Mary became like family. She guided him through the program at just the right pace with lots of encouragement and "rewards" to keep him motivated. Mary helped him learn skills and techniques to improve his reading and comprehension. School became easier and he developed more confidence. He graduated sixth grade with straight As and continues to excel now in 8th grade. Along the way she became a cherished friend to our entire family. She is warm, caring and nurturing. We feel so fortunate to have found her when we did. Because of her intervention, my son is a confident, successful student. We will be forever grateful, and while my son's tutoring days are well behind us, we know Mary will be a lifelong friend."
